The Charleston East and Bayview buildings, Google’s new headquarters at their Mountain View campus, were a joint design collaboration between BIG and Heatherwick Studios.   With an emphasis on human-centered design for optimizing technology, each building will feature a single open-plan office area, enclosed by a large steel tube tensile canopy clad in a shingled solar PV skin.  The project achieved LEED Platinum and ILFI Materials petal certifications.
